Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I enroll my child to inGenius summer program?

Please click this link to create an account. Once you login to the Parent Portal, you can enroll your child to summer program, check schedule and print receipt.

Q: Which grade should I enroll my child in?

It will the same entering grade for your child in the fall of this year.

Q: How do I get my receipt for tax purpose?

Login to the  Parent Portal and click “Print Receipt”. The receipt contains the inGenius Tax ID number and your payment information. 

Q: What is inGenius cancellation policy? 

There will be a $50 cancellation fee within two weeks prior to the first date of the enrolled camp(s). The $50 fee only applies when you cancel the entire summer enrollment.

Q: How can I change my child’s schedule?
We will be happy to accommodate your schedule change. If you need to add/drop/switch classes, please change your child’s schedule in the Parent Portal in advance. There is no fee to drop/switch/add classes.

Q: Who are the teachers?

A: Our teachers come from across San Diego County and either have California teaching credentials, private school teaching experience or college teaching experience.

Q: Language requirements
A: All of our summer programs are conducted in English. We expect students to be proficient in the English language at or above grade level.

Q: My Student doesn’t have programming background. Which classes do you recommend?

A: We have many programming classes designed for your kids. You may want to start them with Robotics, Scratch and Alice 3, Computational Thinking. Later you can then enroll them into text-based language such as Java and Python.

Q: Should my student bring their own computer?

A: There is no need. We will provide all the learning equipment and materials for all of our summer programs. Please DO NOT bring valuables to inGenius summer program. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

Q: Does my student need to take Alice 3 – Introduction to Java before he or she takes Java Programming?

A: Alice 3 is highly recommended for Java. We teach Alice 3 before Java so that students can easily understand fundamental programming concepts. In addition, Alice is a lot of fun and kids will fall in love with programming instead of being discouraged by syntax errors. 

Q: What time can I drop off and pick up my student?

It depends on which sessions you’ve enrolled your student. Here is a schedule of each day:

Drop off begins at 8:30 am and classes begin at 9:30 am. If your student is enrolled in morning camp only, the pick up period is between 11:45 pm and 12:15 pm. If your student is not enrolled in after camp, the pick up period is between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm. If your student is enrolled in after camp, the pick up period is between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Q: Can I drop my student off earlier than 8:30 am at the summer program location?

No. Our campus opens at 8:30 am.

Q: What if I am late to pick up my student?

If you are late to pick up your student a late fee will be charged on the spot of $1.00 per minute, per child with no cap. Late fees are payable in cash to the closing teacher upon pick up.

Q: What if I need to pick up my student early or drop them off late?

You can drop off or pick up your student at any time. There is always someone out front that can sign your student in or out.

Q: Can my student attend lunch if they are only enrolled for a half day?

Your student can attend lunch if they are enrolled in a half day. You can order them lunch through the Parent Portal or send them with their own lunch.

Q: What if my student is sick and needs to miss camp?

If your student needs to miss a few days due to illness, we can provide them with materials from the days they missed. We only provide refunds for students that are sick for the entire week.

Q: What should my student bring to camp with them?

We provide students with all of the materials they need for their classes. Lunch is available to order and we provide an afternoon snack to every student. You are welcome to pack lunch for your student and additional snacks. We also recommend sending your student with a backpack and water bottle.

Q: Where do I find classroom information?
Before summer program starts (early June), we will provide the room numbers for all classes. You can find the classroom information in your summer program schedule in the Parent Portal.

Q: How do I purchase lunches for my student? 
Lunch can be purchase online in the Parent Portal.
Students may also bring their lunches from home or purchase. We highly recommend students who have food allergy, please bring your own lunch from home.

Q: Where is the lost and found located?
Items lost on campus are kept in a box by the sign-in table until the end of summer program.
